Tax Watch: Rep. Nan Hayworth’s votes for Paul Ryan budgets sharpen House race | The Journal News | LoHud.com | LoHud.com

Hayworth, whose 2011 financial disclosure statement pegs her personal wealth between $9.3 million and $23 million, says Ryan’s plans are just what the Hudson Valley, and our nation, need. The marginal tax rate for America’s richest families – whose incomes exceed $388,351 – is now 35 percent.

The Ryan plan would slash the top rate to 25 percent, with some of that lost income replaced by the elimination of yet-to-be designated tax deductions, which could include mortgage interest, charitable contributions and state income taxes and local property taxes.
